This Cookie Policy explains how WannaCall Ltd (WannaReview) uses cookies and similar technologies when you use WannaReview. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally. We keep cookies to a minimum: only what is needed to run the service, plus optional analytics that stay off until you accept them.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Related technologies, such as browser local storage, do a similar job. We use the term “cookies” to cover both. Cookies set by us are “first-party”; cookies set by another organisation are “third-party”.
2. The cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These are required for the service to work and cannot be switched off. They include the authentication and session cookies that sign you in and keep you signed in as you move between pages, and a small preference that remembers your cookie choice (stored as wr.consent). Without these, core features such as logging in and managing your profile will not work.
Analytics (optional, consent-based)
If you accept, we load Google Analytics to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. This is off by default and only activates after you click “Accept” on our cookie banner. We enable IP anonymisation on these requests. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and the Google Analytics script is never loaded.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
3. Third-party cookies
- Google Analytics(only with your consent): helps us measure usage. You can also install Google’s opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. See Google’s Privacy & Terms for their practices.
- Identity providers(LinkedIn, Microsoft, Google): when a reviewer chooses to verify their identity, that provider may set its own cookies during sign-in, governed by the provider’s own policies.
4. How long cookies last
Session cookies are temporary and cleared when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for a set period or until you delete them; our sign-in session and your saved cookie choice are persistent so you are not asked to sign in or choose again on every visit.
5. Managing your choices
You can change your analytics choice at any time by clearing the wr.consentvalue in your browser storage, which brings the banner back. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies through their settings; the browser’s Help menu explains how. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of WannaReview from working.
6. Do Not Track
There is no agreed industry standard for handling browser “Do Not Track” signals, so we do not currently respond to them. Because our analytics are off unless you opt in, declining the banner already prevents non-essential tracking.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy for operational, legal or regulatory reasons. The “Last updated” date reflects the current version.
